The Sundowe, winner of the Highland Quest For A Musical opens at Eden Court's One Touch Theatre on Friday 30 November.
The Sundowe is a vibrant, off-the-wall, brilliantly entertaining musical written by the highly imaginative and talented brothers John, Gerry and James Kielty.
THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE BURIED UNDER THE STREETS, PARKS AND GRAVEYARDS OF EDINBURGH THAN THERE ARE ALIVE IN THE CITY. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY ALL STOOD UP?
Set in Edinburgh, The Sundowe combines the deep history of Scotland with European mythology, local legend and modern events.
The Highland QUEST is a partnership between Eden Court, theatrical impresario Sir Cameron Mackintosh’s The Mackintosh Foundation, The Scottish Government and Highland 2007.
Over 130 new musicals entered into the competition with entries from the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Taiwan, China and across Europe. Following a dramatic showcase final, in July 2006, The Sundowe was declared the worthy winner.
Following a three week run in Eden Court, The Sundowe will begin a four week tour of the Highlands visiting Fort William (14-19 Jan), Wick (24-26 Jan), Skye (29-30 Jan) and Ullapool (31 Jan-2 Feb).
Full details will be announced soon.
