Highland 2007 Launch
Inverness Gaelic Choir, Massed Pipes and Drums of the Highlands, Blazin Fiddles, Spectacular Fireworks – and much more!

Best viewing areas: west side of the River Ness (Cathedral side) on Huntly Street, Ness Walk and Young Street. The Lifescan Monster Street Party continues after the Launch, moving from the river area into the city centre.

Lifescan Monster Street Party
An international monster extravaganza around the city centre, featuring a breathtaking aerial ballet from Transe Expresse in Falcon Square. Please note that capacity is limited for Transe Expresse – a second performance will take place on Saturday 13 January in Falcon Square at 8pm.

Event road closures will be in place from 6.30pm in the city centre on 12 January – please allow sufficient time to travel to the event. Full details of all road closures and parking restrictions can be found here.

The Highland 2007 Launch event is free and suitable for all ages. This is an outdoor event, please dress for the weather.

Inverness Museum and Art Gallery; reopening of the permanent exhibitions and opening of Fonn ’s Duthchas – Land and Legacy exhibition.

11am - POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
The Old New Year Shinty Match; Bught Park, Inverness. Glenurquhart vs Strathglass.

1pm
Duthchas – The Legacy. Eastgate Shopping Centre hosts a mini-exhibition on contemporary Highland culture, from the national exhibition Fonn ’s Duthchas.

8pm
Transe Expresse, Falcon Square, Inverness. A second chance to see this spectacular aerial ballet forming part of the Highland 2007 Launch celebrations.
