Gaelic is a vital and living part of modern Highland life and plays a major part in the culture and identity of the Highlands.  Gaelic language and culture is undergoing a resurgence and acquiring a new cultural relevance. The rich legacy of Gaelic culture has developed many distinct forms of artistic expression from ancient bardic traditions to contemporary poets, bands and musicians.
