On December 16 Inverness will be taken over by thousands of Santas as they descend upon the city for the first ever Christmas WildDay Out as part of the Inverness Winter Festival.
This iconic charity event aims to get the entire Highlands together for one huge party, whilst raising funds to truly step up the fight against global poverty.
The focal point of the action-packed day will be the Highland Santa Six, a 6km fun run with a festive twist; all participants will be wearing Santa suits!
Starting from Inverness Leisure participants will follow a loop around the River Ness, returning back to the Queens Park stadium to complete a lap of honour.
Entry is open to all, from experienced runners aiming to tear around the course in record time, to more relaxed participants wishing to have a fun stroll whilst soaking up the atmosphere. There’ll be plenty of extra things going on throughout the day, with music, entertainment and awesome games happening at Inverness Leisure.
Throughout all of this you’ll know that you’ve directly helped some of the world’s poorest people by fundraising for the WildHearts Foundation, a dynamic Highland based charity pioneering a new concept in the developing world called microfinance, helping people to help themselves by giving them a hand up, not a hand out.
On a domestic level WildHearts helps people, especially children, to adopt healthier, active lifestyles and to become more involved in their community.
All participants receive a spectacular Santa suit, entrance to the WildDay Out after-party at Inverness Leisure and lots more.
The family event will also feature a range of activities for spectators and participants including a 35ft bungee run, a sticky fly wall and a huge, human table football tournament. Music, carol singing and other entertainment will also be on offer throughout the day.
