Highland Lights ~ Solais na Gaidhealtachd
12 January 2008 ~ 12 Faoilleach 2008
Inverness ~ Inbhir Nis

On Saturday 12 January 2008, “An t-Seann Bliadhn’ Ùr” (The Old New Year), around 50,000 people enjoyed Highland Lights - Solais na Gaidhealtachd, Inverness' grand finale to mark the close of Highland 2007, Scotland’s year of Highland culture.

The fantastic magical, musical Torchlight Procession saw pipes and drums, marching bands, street theatre and fire surprises, including a spectacular flame dragon liven the way for the thousands of people, young and old, who joined in the fun!

The procession wound it's way along the river towards the Kessock Bridge where a spectacular firework finale, the first ever pyrotechnic show to take place from the Kessock Bridge, delighted the thousands of people watching from all around the Moray Firth. Choreographed to music broadcast live on Moray Firth Radio, the fireworks are sure to be one of the most impressive displays in the UK during 2008.

Groupe F, Marseille-based internationally renowned specialists in large scale pyrotechnic shows created the world class display.
