CULLODEN - CÙIL LODAIR
The new Culloden Battlefield experience
For more information please visit www.culloden.org.uk
Open 10am - 4pm Winter (November - March)
9am - 6pm Summer (April - October)
Battlefield open daily, all year.

The battle lines have been redrawn at the new Culloden battlefield experience.  The site has been restored to as close as possible to that seen by the forces on that fateful day in April 1746 and an impressive new modern centre with exciting interactive exhibition will host visitors.  With over 1,200 dead in just one hour Culloden was a short but bloody battle – the last to be fought on British soil.  Now all the family can experience and understand so much more.  Follow characters who were actually involved in the battle around the interactive exhibition, experience the true horror of the battle in the 360º immersive film, take a battlefield tour with our interactive electronic device, and watch the daily Living History presentations, which bring the battle to life.

Culloden has always been a memorable place – and is now even more so.

A ’MHÀTHAIREACHD: DEALBHAN MÀTHAIREACHD

Maternity Exhibition
Inverness Museum & Art Gallery
Until 12 January 2008
Admission is free
Opening times: 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday.

A new exhibition based on images of the mother and child from the collections of the National Galleries of Scotland. Comprising a selection of eleven very different images, Maternity explores the theme of motherhood in art, and considers how it has been interpreted and re-interpreted by artists over the past 500 years.  The works on show range from the early Renaissance to the present day, and include works by Sandro Botticelli, George Romney, William Quiller Orchardson, and Pablo Picasso.

Maternity is presented in partnership with Highland 2007 and The Highland Council and reflects the National Galleries of Scotland’s active involvement with art and culture in the Highland region.
