The Outsider Festival
Fèis air an Iomal
22 – 24 June
The Outsider is a groundbreaking environmental festival held at the Rothiemurchus Estate near Aviemore. The atmospheric surroundings and scenery will provide the backdrop to a unique range of outdoor activities for all ages such as walking tours, environmental debates, the Merida Outsider Mountain Bike event and Britain's Most Beautiful Run. Music is provided by such acts as KT Tunstall and Crowded House, with stand up comedy and movie screenings among the many other attractions. St. Kilda – A European Opera

22 – 23 June
The St Kilda Opera project is an innovative international music-theatre and new media production that will be performed simultaneously in five cities across Europe. A live satellite link will connect the performances in Austria, Belgium, France and Germany to the Scottish performance at Stornoway’s state-of-the-art Studio Alba with elements of the show transmitted live from St Kilda. Each performance will use the same script, score, libretto and pre-filmed footage to build individual interpretations to the story of St Kilda. See www.stkilda.eu
Moray Firth Flotilla

The Moray Firth Flotilla 2007 is a unique and exciting project that will see a flotilla of around 30 traditional boats sail around the coast from Wick on 23 June to Portsoy to mark the opening of the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival on 29 June 2007.  After leaving Wick the Flotilla will call at Lybster, Helmsdale, Invergordon, Cromarty and Buckie. Sea Cromarty Sparkle

A month long festival, Sea Cromarty Sparkle celebrates the sea and the area’s marine heritage with children’s events, exhibitions, live music and lots of activities for all the family – including a visit by the boats from the Moray Firth Flotilla. Brahan Seer
Coinneach Odhar
27 – 29 June
This new comedy play will be performed twice each night, in English and Gaelic, by the Florians and the Inverness Gaelic Drama Group. The Production takes place at the Bught Park Little Theatre, Inverness, and is suitable for all ages and all levels of Gaelic and English speaker. Music is provided by the local fèis, Fèis na h-Oige. www.florians.org.uk
Ceòlas 2007
1 – 6 July
Ceòlas 2007 is a week long music, song and dance Summer School in the Gaelic speaking community of South Uist in the Western Isles. Experts will be on hand to teach piping, fiddling, singing, Scotch reels and Quadrills, step dancing and the Gaelic language.
