Scotland's largest walking festival is now also a major arts festival with a 10 day programme featuring over 130 events. These include a film festival, walks, astronomy, cycling, music, exhibitions and cultural and social events that celebrate landscape and the natural world's influence on creativity. World Porridge Making Championship

The 14th annual Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championship takes place in Carrbridge. The event also features the Cairngorms Farmers Market, Porridge Parade, live music, product tastings, street entertainment and the Carrbridge Challenge Forest Run. The Royal National Mod

Am Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail -The Royal National Mod, is Scotland's premier festival of the Gaelic language, arts and culture. This competition-based festival attracts an audience from throughout the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada and the USA. Shinty and Hurling International
Farpais Eadar-nàiseanta Iomain Alba is na h-Èireann
13 October
Shinty and Hurling share a unique heritage spanning over 2000 years and are the iconic stick and ball games of Scotland and Ireland respectively. The Camanachd Association of Scotland's Shinty players and the Gaelic Athletic Association of Ireland's Hurlers meet each year in an international competition played in alternate countries each year.  This year's match takes place in Fort William. Dràma Na h-Alba

The Highlands and Islands Theatre Network is mounting Scotland’s first International Theatre Arts Festival and Forum, Dràma Na h-Alba (DNA). Featuring companies from the Highlands and Islands, the rest of the UK and beyond, the festival will celebrate the best of today’s theatre. DNA offers a forum to learn, create and debate.
