The festival season gets underway with this enticing event which covers a broad range of interests. Shetland Folk Festival

Tickets are now available for the Shetland Folk Festival. Performers, visitors and locals all enjoy this highly-regarded annual event, which will bring together musicians from across the world during three days of events. Celebrate Scotland’s cultural legacy with an events weekend all across the country’s museums and galleries. Maggie's Monster Bike & Hike
Mòr-chuairt Mhagaidh air Baidhsagal is air Chois
5 – 6 May
The centrepiece of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres’ fundraising calendar is the annual Monster Bike & Hike event. A fun way to raise money for a great cause while also a physical test, participant’s cycle 30 miles before having a choice of 8 mile, 23 mile or 40 mile walks to complete the event. Entrants travel from all parts of the country to take part with 1,000 competitors anticipated this year. Event entry forms and further information available at www.maggiescentres.org

The Six Cities Design Festival

The Six Cities Design Festival aims to unlock Scotland’s creativity and innovation. There are three key strands to the Six Cities Design initiative: developing the use of design and creativity in business; raising awareness of design through education programmes; increasing public engagement with design through a three week Festival to be held simultaneously in Scotland’s six cities - Inverness, Stirling, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
