Cllr Jean Urquhart
The Highland Council 

Jean Urquhart lives and works in Ullapool, a village on the West Coast of Scotland. She has run a small hotel/restaurant/arts venue there since 1970.  Elected to the Highland Council in 2003 council and re-elected in 2007 (Councillor for Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh). Her interests lie with education and culture with a strong involvement in the arts and music – of all kinds. Over the years she has chaired the Highlands and Islands branch of the Federation of Small Businesses, (a small business group),  tourism, and arts organisations in the Highlands.   She is currently the Vice-Convener of the Independent/SNP Administration, Highland Council.
