A book of short stories and poems by local writers is to set to go on sale as part of Highland 2007, Scotland's year of Highland Culture.
Work by members of the Ross-Shire Writers has been collected in an anthology entitled, Along The Lines...
The group have met on a weekly basis in Dingwall for almost five years and produce writing through class and homework exercises. This is the first anthology they have published.
Chairperson of the group, Reg Holder, said: “We are delighted to see some of our best work gathered together in this book. Our members are of all ages and come from quite a diverse range of backgrounds, but the fact that we all live locally means many of our pieces have a Ross-Shire flavour. I hope locals and visitors alike will enjoy the anthology.”
Along The Lines... will be available from local shops. Email suska@lycos.co.uk for more information.
Notes
Ross-Shire Writers was formed after a group of people enjoyed a Workers Educational Association creative writing course so much, they decided to set up their own group. It was originally led by well-known local writer, Cynthia Rogerson, but now she has moved on, members take turns to lead the class.
