The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (SSO), one of Britain’s finest orchestras, joins forces with the Highland Regional Youth Orchestra (HYRO) in a concert featuring 180 musicians at Aviemore Highland Resort on Saturday 24 March.
The Award winning BBC SSO, under the baton of American Conductor Clark Rundell, performs some of the great classics, including Aaron Copland’s exciting celebration of the cowboy, Billy the Kid. The talented players of the HRYO exhibit their virtuosity in Chabrier’s exotic Spanish Rhapsody, and join the BBC SSO in three works including the world premier of ‘FLING!’, a high-spirited score written to celebrate Highland 2007 by Scottish Composer John McLeod.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear one of the UK’s leading orchestras with the cream of Highland Region’s young players. The concert will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
