Douglas Wilby, area community learning and leisure manager with The Highland Council, said: “We have had a huge variety of events contact us for support and I am pleased that we have been able to offer funding to such a diverse and interesting range of events and projects spanning each of the six strands of culture.  We are sure the events and projects planned in and around Inverness next year will contribute to the overall success of Highland 2007.

“Our Community Programme in Inverness has been so popular we have nearly exhausted the fund but there is one more round of funding available with a deadline of 12 October so we would encourage anyone interested to get in touch with us before then.”
