Events organisers in Argyll, Bute and Arran were today reminded that 31st October marks the closing date for applications for funding under the Highland 2007 Major Events and Festivals Programme.
Councillor Robin Banks, Depute Leader of Argyll and Bute Council, said: “There have been a number of enquiries and a good number of application forms have been sent out. It is now imperative that any further enquiries are lodged urgently, and that all applications are completed and submitted before the closing date of 31st October."
The £200,000 budget is aimed at major events which will form a key part of 2007 Scotland’s Year of Highland Culture programme in the Argyll and Bute Council and Argyll and the Islands Enterprise areas. The budget covers all the strands relating to Highland 2007 - arts, heritage, sport, Gaelic language, science and the environment.
Guidelines and a downloadable application form are available on the Argyll and Bute Council website, www.argyll-bute.gov.uk , or from Patricia McCrossan, Argyll and Bute Council, on 01369-703214.
