The ‘Vital Spark’ is Ignited at International Conference in Aviemore

The Vital Spark Conference Press Release - Next Sunday (30 September 2007) over 300 delegates from 20 countries will arrive in Aviemore to take part in the biggest ever conference on interpreting our natural and cultural heritage. The Vital Spark, as the name suggests, aims to do just that – ignite the ‘spark’ in the visitor experience, create a memorable experience for them, encourage them to extend their stay in Scotland and hopefully to return at a later date.

These performances range from the hilarious to the provocative and are written by John Harvey and Dave Smith and Euan Martin.

Bridging the Cultural Gap in the Highlands

The Highland Council Press Release - A £30,000 fund has been established in the Highlands to encourage greater understanding across cultures in Highland. Over the next 18 months, the Cultural Bridges Fund will be used to promote improved community relations between new residents, minority ethnic community groups and the wider community.

Provost Opens Ness Islands Enhancements

The Highland Council Press Release - The completion of the Ness Islands Enhancement Programme, Inverness, at a cost of £440,000 was marked today (Thursday) with an official gathering in the new central arena, where Provost Bob Wynd, Chairman of the Inverness City Committee of The Highland Council, and invited guests were joined by the four artists whose work forms a large part of the extensive environmental improvements that were phased over 15 months.
