Creating a Legacy for 2007

Chairman’s Pride in Delivering Highland 2007

The Chairman of Highland 2007, Councillor Sandy Park, Convener of The Highland Council, said the Board and staff of Highland 2007 are proud of what has been achieved during Scotland’s Year of Highland culture. Speaking at Highland Portraits – a celebration of the year’s events at Eden Court, Inverness - Councillor Park thanked funding agencies and sponsors as well as event promoters, organisers and entertainers for making Highland 2007 such a resounding success.

‘The Lion and the Eagle’ - A Documentary Film about Polish Residents in the Highlands

Cromarty Arts Trust Press Release - Cromarty Arts Trust is proud to announce the screening of a new documentary film about the experiences of the Polish community living around Inverness and Easter Ross. From mid-April to the end of July 2007, the Trust hosted a film-maker in residence, Anna Jones, to work with Polish people in the area and to produce a film which will be shown at the Eden Court Cinema on Wednesday 16th January at 8.30pm.

Highland Lights promises “Fantastic Programme of Entertainment”

The Highland Council Press Release - Members of The Highland Council's Inverness City Committee are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the city for Saturday’s Highland Lights - Solais na Gaidhealtachd event. As well as being the finale for Inverness's new Winter Festival, Highland Lights - Solais na Gaidhealtachd - is seen as a unique opportunity to build on the success of the Highland 2007 launch event on 12 January last year, and the call from the Scottish Government to establish a national programme of winter events.
