Highland 2007 brought together a programme of more than 600 exciting events celebrating Highland culture in villages, towns and cities throughout the Highlands and Islands and beyond. (List of events)

The year climaxed in a spectacular torchlight procession and firework finale over the Kessock Bridge in Inverness on 12 January 2008. Highland Lights, the grand finale to the year, was enjoyed by about 50,000 people viewing the event from all over the Inner Moray Firth. (More about Highland Lights)

Although it signalled the end of Scotland’s Year of Highland Culture it also marked a new beginning for culture in the region. The impact of Highland 2007 will last for years to come and boost arts and tourism in the Highlands and Islands.
